Wrath of Syn

Imperial Scholar's Thoughts

It should be noted that when referencing the Wrath of Syn is that it can take many meanings. This happens to be the modern form of this phrase, whereas historically it was meant as a reference to the full force of the Legion of Syn. Syn as a goddess, for her to bring her wrath was not anything some random encounter could produce. For at the time of this phrases relevancy, her wrath was focused solely on the Shadows where nothing could pull her fury away.

Effect

Manifestation: Caster is granted the Wrath of the Goddess in one of three forms dependent on circumstance.
  1. Caster is granted a Spirital Varient of Syn's own sword that does 32 D10 damage, Caster is temporarily given max stats for 5 turns.
  1. Caster needs to be in proximity to a thermal event (Ex. Hotspot, Volcano, intense sunlight, desert conditions, ect.) Cast manifests the thermal event to an unimaginable level, event causes target to take 20D 10 damage and must make a saving throw of >15 to avoid being incinerated instantly.
  1. Caster is able to call on a lightning strike in cloudless skies. Lightning bolt glasses an area of 300’x300’. All targets in AOE take 45D 6 Damage. No saving throw is available. Targets are marked for death within AOE, which reduces the strength and dexterity stats of targets by 6.

Side/Secondary Effects

Should the offering not meet Syn's requirements. the caster will have sacrificed an object of importance for nothing. Due to the nature of the ritual, the caster will need to make a dexterity save of >12 to avoid taking severe burns to the hands and arms. This will reduce the caster's movement speed, on failure, by half.

Secondary effects of the spell are that movement speed is increased by a factor of four, caster also overrides any initiative forcing all other players and NPCs to attack after the caster. Should the Caster survive whatever needed the literal wrath of a god, the caster will have an enfeebled status applied to the for the next three sessions. Enfeebled will reduce all stats by half, movement speed will be reduced to 1/3rd, and take a disadvantage on saving throws.
Be wary, fickle use of this spell is highly cautioned, items destroyed will break plots, and cause further damage, personal trauma, and many other unforeseen effects in the world. Be take heart in knowing that you allow Syn to heal just a bit more.

Manifestation

Caster will be draped in molten wings, granting light to the world with divine splendor. Bask in the warmth fire given life as endlessly swirling patterns and deific text scrawl across their surface. Become the beacon for with the darkness is burned away, a second sun to grace the limitless skies of the world. Know now what joy the ashes of the hearth feel as your voice is their voice. Know that you are the paragon by which the inferno calls, a certainty without limit.

Rejoice as your eyes burn with Syn's divine power, be rendered in her image. As your ears are filled with the sound of her song, the songs of life, and heat. The symphony of the Quartet at your fingertips, gracing the world with the knowledge that peace or fury will be granted by your will. Feel the weight of the world for your shoulders are stronger than the Atlas of worlds foreign, bend it to your will.

Gestures & Ritual
Spell cast by burning object in ritual sacrifice to the Goddess Syn. Caster takes 1 D10 damage, makes a saving throw for faith/intellect/constitution of a >10 D 20 or take an additional 1D3 damage.

Typically this is not a true ritual spell, there is no grand ceremony. No elaborate spell circles or prays to say. The caster only needs to generate enough heat to burn the object in their hands with the intent of sacrificing it to Syn to allow her to regenerate some of her lost power.

Applied Restriction
The caster needs to sacrifice one object of importance or significant emotional attachment. No mere object that holds emotional attachment can be used, your precious teddy bear that you've had since childhood will not suffice. The object must be a core piece to the persons identity, a part of them. Without the object the person is incomplete.

An item of extreme importance is needed, something that cannot be replaced. Cannot be recreated or mimicked. Once this item is gone, it ceases to exist. While Syn is aware of the personal restrictions and intrepretations of select material items, she will make adjustments to fit the persons ideas of it.

The caster is allowed to cast once per session to cast spell, takes 3 spell slots if applicable.
