Soltuaire

God's Eye Odeza: Expedition Report: V.1.0   The portal opened successfully without any technical issue, Noxious air spilling from portal required full use of Rebreather. Entering Portal, the Skies are blood red, overcast in a sooty haze. Miniature Orbital identified atmosphere consists of the same air as The Cradle though heavy particulate matter consisting of mostly soot and Iron oxide. Higher levels of sulfur can could be considered nonlethal to regular Children.   Found myself in the remains of a city, explored for a few hours finding nothing. Several buildings swept, not even bodies were found. No evidence of bones or even calcified remains. Headed eastward as the sun began to set based off Orbital data, found myself in the remains of an old Cathedral. Ancient, runes carved into the stone are our native language not Namixian under the Quartet Reign. Requesting coordinates based off Orbital star charting.   I wandered around for quite some time, finding a hidden basement section under the main chamber. A few tombs still remained, need a cleaning, covered in layers of ash. Seems not even this sheltered area was spared from what happened here. Acquired the books, I will be submitting them for study to the Fae Archives. Leaving this area, I was surprised with how large this place was, it rivaled even the Cathedral in The Elsewhere. I wonder if this might be a similar layout.   Pulling up The Cathedral's map in the Citadel, the floor plan and layout do seem similar. Much of the floor is cover in ash and dust, I can see old Mosaics and empty picture frames. Though I can't make out what they are. Interference with the Orbital from getting me data, it's requesting I seek a more open area without a roof above it.   Moving toward what I assumed was an old sanctuary, I found myself in an immense basin with an odd glass structure in the far end. Unable to make out what it is through the haze, moving forward without permission. I need to see this. Orbital has sent the coordinates of planet, based off star charts. 98% likely to be 0.0, 0.0, 0.0.   End of formal report.   ----   I sank to my knees as stared up at the stained glass mosaic, though blood red in the setting sun's light, I was speechless. All this time of hearing them talk about her, after all this time of having only ever seen pictures of her. The ID flashing in my visor as lightning cracked down my skin: ID: Mother Syn, Coordinates: Soltuaire: Welcome Home Daughter. I could only stare at it, our homeworld. Look what has become of it.   Father said it was an Edin for us, boundless in its beauty. Verdant hills of green, forests to soar above without fear. Cities that blended seamlessly with the world around us. Mother Syn at our side the entire time, helping us grow. Always there for us, always the loving Mother her Children needed. Now, here is all that's left of us, a broken, burned, destroyed world that will take eons to repair itself. A life extinguished, a phoenix to never rise again.   ---   "She's praying to you."   "You will not intervene."   "It's taken quite a bit on my part to keep your little plan a secret from the others, I allow those 'explorers' those 'Wayfares' to explore without the miasma to pursue them."   "And you know I love you for it."   "Where are they hiding?"   "I believe you killed me before I got to see where my sister and the rest of the Children went."   "..."

Geography

A once thriving Edin of the Faeries, a past now stolen from them. The world still holds much of its geological features, though the surface is now covered in an unfathomably deep layer of ash and debris. In the Northern Hemisphere of Sol there exists a great desert that spanned between two mountain ranges that flanges out into a now dried delta structure that flowed into expansive everglades. Though these more subtle features cannot be seen from orbit, they have been burned away and covered in volcanic and pyroclastic debris.

Spanning each side of these mountain ranges are immense empty abyssal planes that ones held the seas of Sol, the deep trenches near the subduction joints of the now stilled tectonic plates have been filled in with avalanches as they flowed off these Mountains to the east and west. The deep cuts in the flesh of this earth now nothing more than soft potsand than continues to consume the odd meteorite, rockfall and comet that happens to fall into its hungry maw.

In the Southern Hemisphere of Sol is three continents that have had their mountains leveled as indicated by the colossal impact site in the middle of this triangle of landmasses. In this impact site is the remains of a fleet of Ash Bringers, having been brought down by an unknown force, to them at least, and having acted as a hammer of the gods on the planet's surface. These ships having been here for so long as to become an artificial mountain range inside this crater.

The last feature left noting is the planetary crack just beneath this impact crater. The crust of the planet having been opened inadvertently when the Ash Bringers fell from the heavens onto their own world. The world having had it's core siphoned of energy the Shadow: Lust in an effort to exert control over Syn and her Second in Command Anlyth, First Son of Syn. While she succeeded in destroying the Faeries homeworld, she miss stepped and allowed Anlyth to undergo Apotheosis.

However, the end result of this all was to leave the planet to become on of The Burned. An empty world, left with nothing more than howling ash filled winds, sulfur and iron heavy in the air.

Natural Resources

Many of the natural resources of the world still remain intact, despite the extreme conditions. While not entirely natural, all the materials did originate on the planet, the fleet of Ash Bringers left in the impact crater would be a massive boon to whoever rediscovers the world. Their immense armor and shields, unfortunate to the rest of the planet, remained active as they fell through their own atmosphere. Much of the technology, weapons, and information are still within these ships. Should one be able to rob the final resting place of the Children of the gods, they would find an unfathomable advantage to whomever side they belonged.

The world is a metal rich planet, Iron, Platinum, Gold, Silver, Copper, Mithril, Orichalcum, and a vicious green-red metal known for it's planet's namesake; Sol. Though, at this point should one be lucky they may find a few pyroclasticlally fossilized remains of the Biomes and creatures that lived here.

Tourism

Technically technologically impossible by the vast majority of the universe, extremely ill-advised.
