Silenced Tongues

Extremely rare curse that applies to all entities both living and dead ubiquitously. The curse manifests itself whenever the speaker is attempting to speak of a topic known only to select special few. This being whomever the Queen of the Fae has told the information too, or has found out on their own. It is very uncertain about the contents of the information, though it seems to be protecting something from being discovered by the wrong people.

The curse is made apparent when speaking the speakers mouth will suddenly vanish, ceasing all sound or attempts to speak until the speaker has given up attempting to give the information. This also applies to anyone trying to write out the information by the writer being unable to remember what they were writing.

Historical Basis

While it appears extraordinarily rarely for the vast majority of the Denizens of The Tree, it has many historical instances where the curse has appeared. In the year 541 The King of tha Galician region, for it was no kingdom at the time, during the reconquering of Fort De Namoux was giving a speech to his subjects when the curse made itself apparent. To this humble scholar's eyes, the king was given some help in taking a fortress built to withstand a war long forgotten. A war no mere mortal could comprehend, an outside assistance if you will. With this information, the king had attempted to bolster the confidence of his men with information he had no right to disseminate.

In the year 831, a sojourner had been speaking with the fledgling Gnomish Naval Commander. The bard has an extraordinary gift at speech, earning himself a notoriety seen only by the kings of the land. He was detained by the Commander and questioned, a question that would cost him dearly as well as the reputation of the Mhuzelti Empire. When he had been abused to the torture methods favored by the Empire, he was struck with the curse as he attempted to give them information they wished. While the Empire understood the futility of continuing the questioning, that did not stop them from taking his hands.

In the mythically rare instances it occurs. It has been noted that not even the gods are immune to this curse. In the year 1231 The Great Saint Xelex, The Horror Xelex had been struck with this same curse whilst teaching Ilgor of the Skullbrood Clan. She would refuse to speak much of this teacher in any interview she was subject to.
"Shatter now, speak our names no longer, for your tongues are naught but evil. See us no longer, eyes occluded by hate. A song no longer played, ears filled with misunderstanding. A pox on you and your mutations from here and forevermore. Remain unforgiven."
Imperial Scholar's notes on the curse. It would seem this was spoken at the lementable begining of an end, words spoke in anger and hatred. Whist I know whom has spoken these words, It has taken some great effort to find the loopholes in the curses wording to share this with you. Take heart that this will begin the spread of understanding in the Tree proper.
