The White Shine Merchant Hall
As the mouth of the clam is forced upon by two divers barely wearing anything, a third diver reaches into the clam and quickly pulls out a pearl the size of a child’s hands before the clam forces itself shut. Slowly making their way back up, they eventually break the surface and grab on to the ladder of a large ship, standing still upon the sea. The divers climb aboard the ship, leaving the pearl in the hands of the captain who inspects the pearl before smiling and placing it in a wooden box with circular indentations. The hole grows to match the pearl before the lid is closed and the divers are forced to dive yet again. As evening approaches the ship sails into the docks of Dewshore and while the tired divers leave the ship one by one with various creates loading them onto a small wagon. The captain having overseen their departure grabs only the small wooden box with the pearl, now joined by two more and walks up the small hill next to the docks to a large compound surrounded by stone walls. While the wagon gets sent into one of the first warehouses on the right, the captain walks over to the largest building in the compound. The large wooden building has unlike most buildings in the docks glass windows, but several metal bars form a grid over it. The second floor has a large crane pulling up a massive piece of machinery that is still dripping water from rusted joints. As the captain enters the building beneath the sign swinging back and forth in the wind showing a radiant pearl, they simply pass the reception without a word, entering a large hall with dozens of inspectors at desks inspecting various peals, gemstones and fabrics. The captain walks over to the third desk before leaving the small wooden box and signs her name on a small note. As the captain leaves the inspector takes the wooden box and places it on top of two other identical boxes and attaches the note on the front.
White Shine Merchant Hall
The largest trading company of Dewshore is the White Shine company, dealing with anything on the Leboar Sea and the cities around. Their main trade has for a long time been in the pearls harvested from the seafloor outside the city as they are used in magical spells and creations, a market that is unlikely to ever fall. Their compound is located just by the docks upon a hill surrounded by a ledge that drops down to the other warehouses of the dockside. Secured by a 2m tall stone wall all around with metal gates, entering the compound is possible but a deterrent is more effective than an actual answer if some mages were interested in theft. Every item passing the White Shine merchant hall is inspected for quality as making a bad deal with a mage or any person of importance could lead them the fast way to ruin. For this purpose, the main hall is equipped with multiple stations for inspection of small items alongside a large workshop on the second floor for more complex items that require larger tools.Once items are inspected and to remain in the compound for any extended period it is moved to one of the several warehouses. They are built out of wood but have each a substantial ward upon them against fire and simple attacks. The yard of the compound is continually guarded by trained mercenaries that have found themselves in permanent positions. Any simple items can be sold in the dock market just outside the compound while more exotic goods are sold to the richer clientele of the city or sometimes shipped by land or sea to other cities.
