Fields of Execution
One, two three, four, five... each pearl placed in a small ornate box with silver linings along the edges. As each pearl is placed into the box it morphs to perfectly fit the dimensions of the pearl, leaving place for the final and sixth pearl. A note is stamped and signed by the attendant before its placed alongside the pearls inside the ornate box and the lid is closed with the sound of a small claps locking. A short while later there is a small light inside the box as the silver linings glow, following the intricate pattern inside and running out. There is a small tug on the latch of the box, but it does not give, now only darkness remains.
At the shaking was fine but now every few minutes the entire box seems to slide back and forth, almost jumping a bit. Outside the box is a wagon, pulled by a single horse as a man in robes direct the pathless route through the desolate landscape. Several men walk beside the wagon, their weapons drawn as they intensely look around themselves. The man on the cart makes some gestures and chants some words before an owl appears before him from thin air. As it flies through the fog into the sky, all it can see around is the now broken path and scattering of ruins and bodies. As the owl looks up a large skeletal form flies straight into it and bites down, instantly killing the owl. Looking down the small cart is frantically trying to speed up as the large skeletal dragon descends.
Fields of Execution
Located in the northern part pf Nicandria between Dewshore and Everglade, the Fields of Execution was once a large plain where travel across the nation was quite common as it was the fastest path between the capital and the northern cities. During The War for Midranor, this area became the staging point for Shar's invasion into Midranor. In the following years there was a continual battle to drive back the forces of shar which led to land slowly filling up with the bodies of fallen soldiers and as Shar remained on the battlefield, the life of the land was slowly trained until nothing remained.
Now the field is has turned into an execution ground with the various corpses of creatures that had once fallen here in battle are sometimes roused from eternal sleep and go hunting. The area has however turned into a great treasure trove for House Rothspard as they are able to find various materials for necromancy among the mountains of corpses.
