The Akadi Corporation

The Akadi Corporation is the galactic corporation run by the ultra-wealthy Pospero family. While it began as a small shipping fleet that would transport any cargo for a price (including illegal cargoes), it rapidly expanded into most galactic commodities, particularly foodstuffs, ice, and medical supplies. While Akadi has been known to trade in vice commodities (such as illegal drugs, alcohol, or sexual trade), such trades are usually one-time business contracts and are not part of their regular practices. The Akadi Corporation is a member in good standing of the Imperial Merchants Guild, and its CEO holds the rank of Merchant Baron in the Empire based on both its wealth and influence. Akadi is one of several corporations considered powerful enough to be selected as one of the two Trader Dukes who will elect the next Emperor.
