Kettu
Kettu are a mammalian humanoid species and members of the Galactic Federation. They were the second alien species, after the Elam, which Humans encountered in the galaxy.
Kettu come from the planet of Metsa. The surface of their homeworld is covered mostly in forests and grasslands. Only about 50% of it are oceans and seas.
Kettu are an interesting species. Compared to Earth they resemble foxes, but unlike them Kettu prefer to eat plants rather than meat. They are also very open to contacts with other species.
Basic Information
Anatomy
Kettu are a mammalian humanoid species which moves in an upright position on two legs. They have two hands free hold and manipulate objects. Their whole body is covered in white and orange fur. On their face Kettu have a pair of narrow and long eyes, an almost completely flat short nose and small mouth. Their ears are long and pointy with the upper part moved slightly outwards. Kettu's fingers have nails which are naturally quite long both in males and females.
Genetics and Reproduction
Kettu reproduce in the same way as humans. The only difference is the pregnancy length which is 6 months. The children develop inside the mother's body and are born live.
Ecology and Habitats
Kettu adapt well to many environments. Their ideal habitat is of a temperate climate with grasslands and forests. Today many of the Kettu live in cities, but they often feel a pull to the wild and spend a lot of time in the forests and grasslands.
Dietary Needs and Habits
Kettu are omnivores, but prefer to eat plants. However, they need to eat meat at least once a month for the proper functioning of their brains.

Kettu are very intelligent. As a omnivore species with prefrence for plants they had to figure out ways to defend themselves against predators in the early days of their evolution.

Kettu have the standard 5 senses of sight, hearing, touch, smell and taste. Their sense of smell is very sensitive and allows them to easily indentify uneatable or poisonous products.

Kettu's government is a direct democracy. It means that most decisions are made through referendums in which all adult citizens can vote. The day-to-day administration is the task of the Citizens' Council, a collective body chosen by all adult citizens for a term of 5 years.

Kettu are a member species of the Galactic Federation. They are strong supporters of cooperation between member species and oppose any wars.
