Aré Spell in The Fruit of War | World Anvil

Aré (Arr-EY)

Aré is one of the typical forms taken by Ega when Channeled by an individual, encompassing "life" and healing but contrastingly, life-stealing and necromancy (though this is widely outlawed).   Due to its obvious applications in the healer field, Aré practitioners typically fall into two types: Clerics and Shepherds of Leaving. Both have similar ranges of ability in how much they delve into the Ega for their work, but their styles of manipulation and end results differ. While they can be employed in the military in the same way as Bloodsingers (Rel and Uon practitioners), their main realm of activity is civilian.   Aré practitioners who disobey widespread laws against training or using their abilities in a harmful fashion are known as warlocks (though they call themselves simply 'shadow-workers'). Many of these were responsible for the summoning experiments -- and ultimately successes -- in opening portals to Azgorach, which in the War of the Six enabled the conscription of the Azgorach Horde under Xa'aroch.   According to Order of the Burning Crown belief, Aré is a gift from Iasis but is also under more scrutiny from Aas and Iasis.   Fieron Eburos is a prominent Aré practitioner as a Shepherd of Leaving.   Isaia is an Aré practitioner through their lower-level Cleric skills that they occasionally use as a Servant at the Temple at Willowbreak Field.
