Ghamdi the Lifetaker Character in The Fourth Age of Tel | World Anvil

Ghamdi the Lifetaker (/ɣa:mdi:/)

Emir Abu Fadha Ghamdi ibn Khafu ibn Jadhu ibn Raishol al-Jasrul al-Izkab (a.k.a. the Lifetaker)

Emir of the Crimson Army, Ghamdi the Lifetaker is an Ifriti noble who commands a host of 10,000 afarit from the fabled Madinat an-Nuḥas, or City of Brass, in their constant wars against the Djinni and the Ghuls. When not leading troops into battle, he often travels beyond the flames of Pyrkaion into other planes of existance, where he hunts down hapless quarry with his pack of trained Abythian Hounds to satisfy his desire to inflict cruelty and pain upon other living beings.

During the Third Age, he would regularly visit Tel to extract tribute from the Apophians; in order to facilitate this, he ordered the Djeti sorcerer-kings to construct a reciving hall and astral portal, from which he could more easily transit from the City of Brass to Tel. In 115 AR, the ruins of this place were unwittingly discovered by a party of adventurers who made their camp on the leeward side of the remaining sandstone walls.
