General Summary

As Abu Emir Azmi bin Faisal bin Haroun al-Jasrul, al-Madinat Annuhas, ostensible messenger of Ghamdi the Lifetaker once again visited their camp and demanded even more tribute, Theo complained to him that he was squeezing those dry who would do his master's bidding. He congratulated Theo on his pluck but warned him that it could be pressed too far. The party haggled with him briefly and then provided him with 14 gold coins, Asbjorn's fine scimitar and a few hundred copper. The mischeivious Ifrit gave them advice about heading toward the lost city of the Rusati but warned them that the Yafwadi prowled those lands and that they hungered. When Teleptyon asked what they ate, Abu pointed at Rahet son of Hershet and said "you have one with you, ask him" and commented that he was not looking very well.

Theo attempted to heal Rahet, but he moved out of his reach. He set the Visions of Ourana upon Rahet and then moved to cure disease on him. The syllable Rho burned intensely on Theo's chest and Rahet's condition appeared to deteriorate although a faint smile crossed his face.

Theo and Teleptyon argued about what to do with him while Alex suggested they send him back toward his people with supplies. Theo decided to strike him down and clubbed him to death in a cold-blooded mercy killing which took multiple inexpert blows in front of the Oameni as he looked on in horror then lit the body on fire and moved on with his day.

They followed the cliff a bit. They camped without incident. They followed the cliff a bit more.

They found the road again and followed it until they found a valley. It was big and green. It seemed clear that it had once been an abode of the Rusati.

Riven noticed evidence of human activity, and decided it was time to explore more carefully. There is a footpath, but the camels would not be able to follow.

Dusk arrived while she sought another path. She pointed out that there was some kind of encampment with smoke to the northwest but the party agreed to avoid civilization for the time being. As they searched she saw a large lake surrounded by pools. Alex noted that some of the vines and tree tops were close enough to the cliff face that they could rappel safely.
