Issbondi

Issbondi Barbarians

The Issbondi are a clan of humans living along the northern borders of Frostryme in the Bitter North. They travel in smaller Bands, and have taken up barbaric practices similar to those of the Orcs.   Derogatorily called "Frost Farmers".   Have a Skaldic tradition.   While the Issbondi generally have the pale eyes and skin of their Frostrymer heritage, they are more prone to bearing reddish hair than others from the north.   The dangers they face daily just to survive results in the Issbondi to typically be quite strong, with a guarded temperament towards outsiders.  Those who cannot follow the strictures of Issbondi society may find themselves exiled from the bitter north, forced to live out their days in the decadent coastal realms.

Birth & Baptismal Rites

The mother of a newborn child will name the child, usually durring the first act of nursing.  This name is known as the milk-name, and will be their only name until adulthood, when they chose their own name and gain the right to call themselves members of their tribe.

Coming of Age Rites

All Issbondi youth of twenty summers partake in a dangerous rite of passage known as the Jhartablodt. The most notable part of this rite involves the hunting the vicious Frost Bear and eating its heart.
