Matchmakers

The Matchmakers are a group of Fey dedicated to the duty of identifying and approving of marriages within the realms. Most of their work, time wise, is spent within the smaller parts of the fey realms, where the material bleeds into the feywild. There, they find matches among the commonfolk and bless them with happiness in their match.

More important to the court is their position politically. Ever since Head Matchmaker Lylo approved of the match between Oberon and Titania, Queen of the Fae the Matchmakers have been seen as a near critical piece of any political marriage. If the Matchmakers don't offer their stamp on a bond, it can be seen as a sham marriage by some Courts, most critically,the powerful Court of Heart.

The matchmakers have been a staple of Awakenings since they began, lead by Lylo since the time before memory, they have been in the background of all the main political marriages, whether they have been for love or for peace. Notably, despite being split on the ascension of Queen Apachia (with some of the Matchmakers marching alongside her and others being against her joining, including Lylo) the organization itself seems to have recovered from this disagreement.

Rumors now abound about Lylo's continued service. Most Fey her age have either become forces of nature or ascended to their own throne, instead she has remained among the form of common fey, working away at Matchmaking. Some say that this is because she cannot find a suitable successor to lead the Matchmakers.

That said, now that Lylo has chosen to bring Matchmaker Amelia to two Awakenings in a row, eyes are on the organization predicting change and something new from the organization that has been in the quiet background for so many parts of Fey history.
