Hersepulis

History

Hersepulis was an important trade port on the Ageron Sea. Its port facilities were built on stilts at the base on the cliff on a shoreline platform. The city itself was built at the top of the cliff. The city was safe from erosion because the modern cliff was made of a hard rock, the remnant of a soft rock cliff.
The city was heavily fortified in the rear as well, as the town was often raided by the hill tribes and raiders from Ephedra.
