Pyromancy Spell in The Fantasy Nexus | World Anvil

Pyromancy (PIE-roh-mhan-see)

"Word of advice: don't underestimate fire users. Many complain that fire is an incredibly basic and uncreative school of magic. And many outsiders would agree, looking in. ...But they're wrong. It's true that fire has few uses outside of combat. Pyrotechnics, warmth, light, combustion. To the uninitiated, offense is fire's only strength. However, that strength shouldn't be minimized or understated. Fire has no upper limit. Fire is what powers stars, supernovae, nuclear fusion. There is nothing in this universe that cannot be vaporized by a strong enough flame. Ashes to ashes — never forget that."   —Keona, Goddess of Fire
Pyromancy, also known as pyrokinesis or simply fire magic, is a class of magic involving the manipulation and weaponization of fire.

Effect

Fire magic is mainly used as either a weapon or as a tool, but in some cases, it can also be used for healing or transportation.

Side/Secondary Effects

The most common side effect of practicing fire magic is, naturally, burning oneself or the others around them. For this reason, when first starting out with pyromancy, it is wise to keep a hydromancer or experienced magician on hand to supervise, in case things go wrong.

Manifestation

The manifestation of pyromancy varies greatly by the spell, but across all spells, the main indication is fire.

Source

Pyromancy is commonly drawn from either the user's internal magic pool, or the ambient magic around them.

Discovery

Fire is one of the primal elements, and pyromancy is a base magic that has existed since the beginning of time.
