Sattarianism

The Sattarians are adherents of the Sorcerer Abdul Sattar who has been missing for approximately 400 years. Sattar was an Archaeist and writer who is said to have discovered profane and heretical thirteenth book of Keidon, which Abdul claimed was dictated to him by the resurrected Keidon himself during a fit of transcendental madness amongst the fallen spendor of Aklon. Writing much of it with his own blood and feces on an unknown leather-like material, The 13th Book has become a powerful symbol of rebellion against the Grand Accord and is revered by those who worship the Akkan-Shai.   While nobody knows where the original copy of the 13th Book is, the contents of any duplication are nigh-indecipherable, often passing between known and unknown languages and alphabets which in most cases have been transcribed by sight alone. One famously translated text passes from contemporary to ancient languages within the same page, devolving into what may be undiscovered scripts. The book's feverish illustrations seem to depict nauseating and cyclopean places and things. What little has been translated of the Thirteenth book comes from Rodan cultists who claim to have been given keys to some of the ciphers by Sattar himself. In a short section which serves as a preface, Sattar blames The Fall on Keidon, who Sattar claims was actually the leader of a doomsday cult intent on bringing about the fall of humanity. Sattar and blames the presence of the Shroud and its continued power on the use of divine and arcane magic poorly understood by those who wield it. Sattar claims that while this was known to some members of Keidon's society who broke away and tried to prevent the Fall, references to this schism were completely wiped out in the Age of Burning Bodies, offering an alternative explanation for why Keidonian Sanctum Librariums show signs of fire damage and are almost completely empty of older texts in the various Bastions.   Why Sattar never revealed the entirety of his book to his followers is unknown, but he preached that the Akkan-Shai capable of profoundly transforming the people and world of Geron in such a way as to prevent geronkind from being destroyed by the Fall. The follows of Sattarianism can often be found in the underworld, attempting to find clues to the Thirteenth Book's mysterious text and images.   The Sattarians believe the gods of the Akasharian pantheon are the true identities of Geron's deities, venerating the Dream Lord Kashar Who Inquires, First Among Dreamers above all others.
