Red Sea

The Red Sea is a desert that separates the Boiled Man's Pass from Ryren Thalor. It is known for it's bright red colour and it's scorching heat.
Those who survive travel through the Pass, rarely survive the Sea that follows.
Technically the Sea was and still is part of Ryren Thalor but the Golden Council disregard the land and cut their borders when the Sea starts. They claim the desert does not count as a plain in their sense (that of meadows and fields) and that the unlawful fae that roam the desert are beyond their saving.
For generations now, they have been using the Sea as a form of exile for those who break their laws but cannot be executed. They do so with the expectation that they will die under the Sun's scorching rays.
And indeed many do, but not all. Some survive to make it through the Sea to the Wastes where a small town of the Plains Folk's supposed criminals have gathered. These 'criminals' regularly scour and traverse the Red Sea to find carcasses and meant or to reach the coast.

Geography

The Red Sea is a vast, dune filled desert with bright red sand. There is little life and no flora to be found. The only water to be found is where the desert ends at the coast.

Fauna & Flora

No plants or flora of any kind can survive in the Red Sea but a few beasts manage. These beasts are specifically suited to the sandy environment and are known for stealth attacks that see them lunges from beneath the sand and retreating just as quick once they have their prey.

History

The Red Sea came into existence when the Seelie and Unseelie Queens met to end the war on their own. Upon their deaths, their power exploded out much as it had when their father died. But where the Mad King's death shattered the continent, the Queens destroyed the landscape of the lonely plains where they had chose to meet.
From the Unseelie Queen, death and decay ricochet from her body creating the Wastes.
And from the Seelie Queen, pure heat and warmth burned the very land and made the Red Sea.

After their deaths, the Plains Fae retracted their claim to both lands and effectively cut their territory in half.
