Apesso

The first time I heard about Apesso was during the Festival of Fire, when some of the partisans of the theft of spirits were mocking the cult of animals. After talking a bit with these people, I realized that Apesso must be eccentric and selfish. Not wanting to dwell on my first opinion of them, I went to attend the ceremony of this cult. After the ceremony, I went to talk with the followers and realized not only that the people I had met earlier were ignorant about the cult but also that Apesso must be an altruistic and supportive person.

Apesso and Animal Culture

Apesso has always been very close to animals. Even as a child, they used to talk with small rodents and it was these rodents who told them about the theft of the Heart of Fire by Baccanos. On the advice of the rodents, Apesso came up with an alternative to the disappearance of the Heart of Fire and they managed to gather enough followers for their cult to be registered in the Great Book of Remembrance. According to this new cult, animals should not be banned in Elen but encourage to come to the city, they will surely return the Heart if they think that the Oryms only want good things for them.
Despite the fact that Apesso's cult remains a minority in the city, They has managed to change the mentality in Elen so that Oryms accept pets in the city and hunting is reduced in favour of fruit crops. Unfortunately, Apesso had many enemies, mainly wardens and hunters, and they were murdered from a long shot arrow at the age of 35.

Baccanos and the Heart of Fire

In the cult presented by Apesso, it was Baccanos who seized the heart of fire. Baccanos is a magical elk that is the materialization of the will of the animals of the forest. On the wish of all the animals, Baccanos would have stolen the heart of fire from the Ents and would have hidden it in the forest. The animals could no longer bear that the Ents disturb the calm of the forest with their battle against the spirits. According to Apesso, the animals would not use the magic of the heart of fire and would be ready to give it back when the calm of old times had returned.
