Talia Starfinder

During the events of Session I - The Witchlight Carnival! Talia Starfinder is a Half-Elf ranger who lost her sense of direction and must knock before entering any room or door. At the Witchlight Carnival, she eagerly handed over her ticket to a child and later received a new ticket with the pact that she must greet all trees with reverence. Talia talked to a tree named Northwind and successfully caught a sycamore seed, which turned into a gold piece. She participated in the faerie dragon catching game but failed. Talia then attempted to pin a goblin in the wrestling event but was unsuccessful. She won a staring contest with a cyclops, earning a trinket. During a rat attack, Talia was injured, but Wirth healed her wounds. She selected the orange snail Whizzy for the snail race and won the race, earning a Potion of Advantage. Talia participated in the gnome poetry contest and the ring toss game, winning a Witchlight Glove Puppet in the latter.   During the events of Session II - The Crowning of the Monarch Talia eagerly welcomed Tarin to the group and joined the party in exploring the Mystery Mine, where she was confronted by her worst fears, specifically giant rats that taunted her sense of direction. Later, she floated in a bubble towards the Dragonfly Ride but didn't find anything noteworthy. In the Pixie Kingdom, Talia adopted the pixie name Puddlemud and won a game of hide and seek, earning pixie dust as a prize. She participated in the Whack-a-Mole game, but her dagger was lost during the mimic encounter. Talia greeted the trees with reverence and continued to be a sharp observer, noticing Rubin Sugarwood's strange behavior at the Hall of Illusions. She sang at the Calliope but didn't succeed in impressing the audience. Talia was tipped overboard by Feathereen during the gondola ride and later helped corner Kettlesteam, the Kenku heckler. She entered the Hall of Illusions with the group and witnessed Rubin's reflection come to life. Talia helped Myrtle obtain Mister Witch’s watch and joined the party in stepping through the mirror to Hither.   During the events of Session III - The Slanty Tower Talia is quick to identify the Lornlings when the party arrives in the new location. During the ensuing battle, Talia initially struggles but eventually lands a fatal blow on one of the Lornlings by stabbing it in the face. She is hit by several daggers during the fight and continues to contribute to the battle by shooting and striking the Lornlings, eventually helping to take down the Giant Constrictor Snakes. Talia later cuts the rope that binds her during a confrontation with Lorna, the Lornling. She tries to calm Talavar, the Knight-Errant, after learning about his need to return to his queen. In the tower, Talia hears rustling behind a door and is the first to be attacked by Lorna, the Lornling. She attempts to cut the rope around her feet and joins the party in the room after freeing herself. Following the encounter, Talia helps the party search for supplies and finds water and a flower. She assists in setting up camp for the night.   During the events of Session IV - The Missing Firbolg Talia tries to engage with Jingle Jangle by offering her music box. She later gifts her butterfly wings to Agdon Longscarf as payment to pass through the Brigands' Tollway. During a battle with Merrows, Talia wades through water to heal Myrtle after she is knocked unconscious. Talia also assists in dousing the animated coals in the balloon factory. She plays a key role in navigating the stepping stones in the marsh and receives a message about a revolution from King Gullop XIX. Talia continues to support the party by helping to find Wirth when he is discovered in a holding cell at the Soggy Court.   During the events of Session V - The Loss of a Friend Talia aids in confirming Morgot's death and later helps assess the situation when they discover Wirth's illusionary disappearance. Talia purchases a gem containing two casts of faerie fire, paying with her eye color, and takes charge of returning the book to Bavlorna. During the battle with the tree, Talia works to stabilize Tarin after she falls unconscious. She uses her healing magic to ensure the party survives the fight and later supports the group as they mourn Nishara’s death, helping to organize a burial beneath the tree.   During the events of Session VI - The Medusa's Gaze Talia plays a supportive role, freeing Wirth from his bonds and assisting in the group's battles. She is gravely injured during the confrontation with the Medusa and becomes petrified, only to be partially restored by Bavlorna Blightstraw. Despite the lingering stiffness in her thumb, Talia remains determined to fulfill the group's obligations to Bavlorna. She presents the Book of Bad Blood to the witch, fulfilling part of their agreement, and continues to support the party as they strategize their next move.   During the events of Session VII - The Electric Shock Talia despite failing to hit her target during the wasp encounter, she remains focused and determined. In the battle against the gelatinous cube, Talia casts a hunter’s mark, helping the party track and eventually defeat the creature. However, her attempt to use the Dark Mantle as a weapon backfires, leading to her temporary incapacitation. Talia also plays a pivotal role in the discovery of Lilygrove’s deception, helping to confront and interrogate her. As they explore the upper regions of the cottage, Talia remains on high alert, prepared for whatever dangers might lurk within.   During the events of Session VIII - The Hag of Downfall Talia diligently restores the paintings that Lilygrove.. During the exploration of Bavlorna’s cottage, Talia faces numerous challenges, including battling the Dark Mantle and attempting to lure a reanimated stuffed cat with a spool of silver yarn, though this proves ineffective. Talia continues to be a steady presence within the group, helping to solve the mysteries they encounter and supporting her companions as they navigate Bavlorna’s treacherous domain. Her perseverance is evident as she helps the group investigate the hidden passageway and later joins in the effort to extract Gahr from beneath the cabinet after they all revert to their original sizes.   During the events of Session IX - The Blood Pact Talia's suspicion of Lilygrove leads her to throw a dagger at her, expressing her frustration and distrust. She questions Kiara’s story about her twin, demanding proof and showing her strong desire to ensure the party's safety. Talia is also involved in investigating the footprints outside Nib’s Cave that reveal Lilygrove’s deception.   During the events of Session X - The Unicorn of Wayward Pool Talia continues to be a vigilant and perceptive member of the party. She offers support to Kiara, though the tabaxi declines. During the journey, Talia ensures the group's safety by taking part in the night watch and responding to threats. She feels watched as they approach Wayward Pool and later rides Lilyfrog across the lake to reach the island. Talia plays a key role in the battle against Zarak, using her skills to track the assassin and ultimately delivering the final blow, shooting Zarak dead.   During the events of Session XI - The Knight and the Paladin Talia engages in battle with the redcaps and later participates in the planning session with the Getaway Gang to infiltrate Loomlurch. In the marketplace at Loomlurch, she trades a trinket for sweets that cause her footfalls to make a musical sound. When Skabatha Nightshade petrifies Lilygrove, Talia helps place her inside Gahr’s Bag of Holding. She interacts with Aldyth and Bahr after their arrival, finding Bahr loud and obnoxious, and gives Bahr a cupcake that results in him getting a halo of fireflies. Talia aids in the battle against the tin soldiers and works to reassure the children trapped in Loomlurch.   During the events of Session XII - The Massacre of Loomlurch Talia secures a windmill during the distribution of items and later attempts to feed Juniper the owlbear by shooting and killing a goat, which triggers an aggressive response from other goats. The resulting chaos alerts scarecrows and tin soldiers, leading to a fierce battle. Talia fights valiantly alongside the party, but like her companions, she falls in the final confrontation. After her death, Talia's body is placed in the Bag of Holding as the remaining survivors flee Loomlurch.
