Dr. Francis Norman Stein

Legend has it that Francis Stein, a human wizard, journeyed from Dewan to the Shard of Maphrok to advance his research in Biomancy. Upon arrival, he seized control of the infamous The Big Bad Base, transforming it into his personal laboratory. During his experiments, Stein developed Mut-X, a biomantic mutagen that could rapidly adapt living tissue to survive hostile environments. However, several of his creations soon escaped, much to the frustration of the local inhabitants—jungle gnomes, wood elves, and lizardfolk. Uniting in a rare alliance, they initially tried to reason with him and request his departure. But when Stein ignored their peaceful appeals, they resorted to more forceful measures, driving him out with torches and pitchforks, temporarily freeing the jungle from his biomantic threats. Scattered throughout The Big Bad Base are documents and artifacts that mark the origins of Biomancy, and Francis Stein is widely regarded as the first true Biomancer.
