The Stained Glass Temples

When I was a young man I considered, if briefly, the life of a priest. I had many questions about life, my peoples relation to Humanity, what I was meant to do and my best use of the gift of life my parents granted me. At the time, the most helpful person I had was another young man in the town I was living in who was the apprentice to the head of the Cult of Lanternlight, who provided great insight to my troubles and helped me right myself. He never tried to convert me or place a stole upon my shoulders, but his assistance put the idea in my head that I could do the same thing for others. I eventually decided against trying for admittance to the priest's colleges, but that man is what I would consider the barometer for a proper priest.
I've since learned that he set a high bar.
I will not speak ill of the Cults as a whole, but I can say with some certainty that I'm not religious. Looking to how much of the page I've dedicated to my own personal musings, I realize that I've gotten distracted by my own reminiscing. Onto the overall structure of the church.
The gods are said to be the best examples of Humanity that have ever been and ever will be. The ones we're most familiar with these days are their direct descendants, and the gods were the first to make the journey from wherever they made their homes before to the world that is now ours.
The laurels accrued after their arrival number far too great to list within the page space that I have here, but they are the basis of the Otonomoi worship of them. Particularly, the workings of the Glass Blower and her creation of us all. I should be thankful for my existence then, but I can only think about how Humanity has used that act to justify.... Well, I think we all know.
The pantheon of gods is not set in stone, simply changing a few deities here and there when one crosses a border or ocean.    The positions of gods within the pantheon are not set either, with leaders and figures often being shuffled around.

It's not uncommon for countries to have a patron god, which is often a unique addition to the pantheon that is seldom found in any place but that nation.   For example, the Father of Tides is unique to Dos, though many other places carry their own god of waters or rivers or what have you, but they seldom carry the same importance.
