The Marsh

The marsh lies between Mudville and the Great Gate. People gather useful plants, as well as fish, frogs, turtles, etc. from it for food or trade goods to sell in Mudville or at The Market. It is very difficult to travel through on foot; usually small flat-bottomed boats are used, pushed by poles or paddles. The marsh surrounds the inner opening of the Great Gate, providing a last line of defense in case of invasion. There is a hidden causeway below the surface of the water connecting the Great Gate with Mudville. Foraging Parties will usually pay a small fee to a guide to help them navigate the causeway.
