Speaker's Square
Speaker's Square is a patio covered by light grey granite flagstones, abutting one wall of The Enclave Council Hall. There are three small granite podiums near the wall, facing outward. The wall is subtly shaped to reflect the sound of the speaker's voice outward. Enclave citizens who wish to sound off on various matters often go to Speaker's Square. Generally, only one person speaks at a time; this is usually enforced by the audience, and occasionally by the Enclave Watch. However, sometimes debates are organized in which there are two opponents and a questioner/moderator, hence the three podiums.
Speaker's Square attracts many loudmouths and cranks, who are regarded as cheap entertainment by some. Anyone may speak for as long as they wish, unless someone else is waiting to speak. The audience generally lets a speaker know when they've said enough and should yield the podium to another speaker.
The Market is held every Sixday, and its center is Speaker's Square.
