At A Glance

The AYATHOR family are the bannermen of Kolaere in the south of Swords. A recent grant of land, just prior to the departure of the Queen, was the founding of the family line. The current lord, Ervan Ayathor, has held the seat since 22 ET. His only surviving child is Ser Eogan Ayathor. Ser Eogan has spent much of the past few years in the south with friends from his squiring in that region. He is known to supplement his income with tourney winnings and usually returns home in the winter.

History

The AYATHOR family is only on its second generation as its founder was raised to landed knight as a reward for watching the lands while the Queen's Crusade was abroad. The founder had originally served as a sworn knight of Kolaere and was rewarded for his service. Lord Ervan's father was slain during the taking of Rhuvael against the Presumptuous Lords in 22 ET. Ervan has held the seat since he was twenty years old. During that time, the Ayathor's cemented their reputation as loyal bannermen of the Kolaere family.
