Lucius Hawthorne Character in The Emergent Plane | World Anvil

Lucius Hawthorne

Lucius is a veteran member of the Southstone Inquisitorium, serving most of his life in the order of Undead hunters. He is human, and well built for his age at 72.   His right eye is clouded over, and black veins protrude from his skin around the eye. It's not a story he likes to tell, but it's the lingering effect of a curse he took the full force of in his younger years. Usually, he wears his mask on that side of his face, covering the eye.   He is missing his left arm and walks with a slight limp, which would understandably lead one to believe his combat prowess has diminished.   However, as Lucius would tell you, "never underestimate an old man in a profession where they die young". Lucius still takes missions and is one of the Inquisitorium's best. It's a running joke among some of the Inquisitors that Lucius can't die, but he is careful to warn the younger Inquisitors that thinking you can't die is a good way to get yourself killed.   He's a fatherly figure to a number of members of the Inquisitorium, having trained a good number of them, including Rowell Shaw.  He has a kind personality and has risked his own life multiple times on missions with other Inquisitors in order to keep them safe.
