Isla Maldita

Isla Maldita is an Island in Marisla said to be cursed by Marislan Locals. The Island is far away from most contact by sapients, to the point they cannot be easily seen. It's the only location where plants known as sea berries, which were once abundent acorss the Marislan Islands, still grow.

Geography

Isla Maldita is fairly barren. It is made of unusally plain light tan sand with an arcane palm tree or two around, however, it has a great treasure on it that is an incredibly rare species of plant, Sea Berries, which grow all across the island, to the point that it can be a bit of a struggle to get around on the island.

Ecosystem

Being so barren, Isla Maldita has little to it's ecosystem, aside from maybe, the Sea berries, which grow to the point of practically taking over the island and feed off the dead plant matter from the nearby arcane palm trees and even dead sea animals from the tide. With little to no animals to eat the Sea Berries, they grow to the insane amounts they currently display.

Ecosystem Cycles

By Winter, the berries seldom grow, and the vines they grow from become dorment, even turning from a vivid green to a tan due to the how the tide brings in rocks and stone bits instead of the leftover meat the Plant needs to grow. By Spring, the Sea Berry vines begin to come to life, slowly returning to their normal green and start to grow again as less rocks show up from the tide. By Summer, the Sea Berries grow to the point where they coat almost all of the island as the tides bring in the most meat possible. When Fall comes, The berries slow their growth and return back to dormancy until the next Spring, with certain parts of the plant, sometimes up to half, dying to help save energy.

Localized Phenomena

Isla Maldita is located incredibly far from all the inhabited islands of Marisla, because of this, even the locals on the closest inhabitated Island, Isla Rojo, are only able to see it on full moons, or nights with a clear sky.

Climate

As like most of the island, Isla Maldita has a generally tropical climate, though, being located in the northern sea, it is ever so slightly on the cooler side.

Fauna & Flora

Isla Maldita has almost no life on it aside from a couple of arcane palm trees and the oversized bush of Sea Berries.

Natural Resources

Isla Maldita is the only location where the incredibly rare Sea Berries grow, in abundance no less.

History

Isla Maldita was once feared as a "Cursed" Island by Marislan locals due to folklore, and even today, locals are still generally suspicious of it.

Tourism

Due to being seen as cursed, few folks go out to Isla Maldita, though a certain few may still go there to try and obtain some Sea Berries.
