Overview of Namarin
Namarin is a continent that spans 7,080,000 square miles (18.3 million square kilometers). Namarin is considered to be a low magical zone and is mostly populated by Herscia on land and Merfolk in the seas, with races such as the Canis Superior and the Tarsin also playing major roles in the continent's affairs. Namarin can be defined as a continent where only the fittest survive, as only isolated enclaves can focus on anything but war. At the current year, Namrin can be technologically compared to the Ancient Age. Although most of Namarin's denizens are developed enough to possess bronzeworking, few have formalized and robust power systems or even ironworking, with feudalism not even a concept yet. Namarin is the most technologically and politically behind the other continents due to such lacking development. There are several reasons for the weakness of both Namarin's societies as well as their lack of ability to establish centralized and contiguous states. One of these is that despite being a low magical zone, Namarin gets hit by strong magical storms once every few years due to the southern currents bringing them from Synarxes and northern currents bringing them from Cet'aenn. The population of the continent, very used to low magic environments, is always unprepared for these storms and can do little more than pick up the pieces when they strike. Additionally, Namarin lacks useful beasts of burden beyond Sanuu, llamas, and alpacas, all of which are geographically limited. This makes it hard for large states to move troops, stores, and people swiftly, making natural abilities of the population the only way to get around. Namarin also suffers from climatic factors- most of the continent, especially the interior, is largely without rain, and is consequentially a desert climate. This climate has isolated the more temperate parts of the continent from one another and stymied trade between powers, and making such caravans across the deserts vulnerable to raids. Finally, Namarin's most prominent species, the Herscia, are a warlike and hierarchal society, who love war so much that they have warped the entire continent in their image. Their refusal to perform reasonable diplomacy or coexist with other races makes anywhere bordering them into a kill-or-be-killed region almost immediately.
