Rogna

Rogna was the goddess of fog and storms, a very important part of the War of Frost and the only deity to die during the Doomsday century. She was portrayed as the sister of Sognir and as rather unpredictable.   Although she is dead, her name is still mentioned occasionally, and older temples still have her symbol in their halls.    Rogna was often depicted as being very capricious. On a good day, she would be kind and benevolent to travellers and sailors, but on a bad day, she would plunge the world into chaos that shook the world. Still, a prayer would be said and sometimes even an offering made before a ship would set sail in hopes that it would please her enough to be kind to them. Many of her choices, like her reluctance to remove her curse on Farathin were looked at with confusion, but the fewest dared confront her over it. The general perception of Rogna shifted after her death, with many forgetting the fear that her name was usually connected to and favouring a milder, more rational image of her.    Her holy symbol was a swirling cyclone, usually carved into a ship’s hull for protection or carried by any superstitious travellers. Although it has been disappearing more and more, the symbol and sometimes even her shrines remain in Syoll, untouched since her death.   During her lifetime, Rogna had a select few followers, who were usually not the most loved in the community. They were generally perceived as unpredictable, and often spent time conducting various rituals to attempt to control the weather. After her death, most of her followers moved on and none remain in the present day.
