Gilbert III of Tolpereth attempts to press his claims as King of Dunedor by force.

Gilbert III of Tolpereth attempts to press his claims as King of Dunedor by force. He elevates Henry of Esek to the Earl of Esek, and creates the Duchy of Hilshor. He then calls all his feudal levies, hires mercenaries, and invades the Duchy of Dunedor. However, Charles V, King of Dunedor initiates diplomatic initiatives to the Kingdom of Callenand and the Kalenish Principalities to attack the Kingdom of Tolpereth across their borders- activities which are enthusiastically embraced by Tolpereth's neighbors. In addition, Charles V, King of Dunedor attacked and conquered the Duchy of Forndandor, depriving Gilbert III of Tolpereth of his most dedicated ally. Geoffrey, Duke of Keldony then attacks the Tolperethi from the west, and Willem X, Duke of Ivenia rebels against Gilbert III of Tolpereth and joins Charles V, King of Dunedor. This coupled with the attacks occuring across the borders of the Kingdom of Tolpereth force Gilbert III of Tolpereth to retreat back across the Tolpereth Channel.
