Kobold

Basic Information

Anatomy

Kobolds are short, reptilian humanoids. A kolbold's scaly skin ranges from dark rusty brown to a rusty black color. They have two small light colored horns on their dog-like heads, glowing red eyes and a non-prehensile tail.

Genetics and Reproduction

Kobolds are egg-layers and any settlement with females will center around a hatchery.

Ecology and Habitats

Kobolds prefer forests and underground environments. They are expert miners and will continue to develop any sort of underground dwelling that they have. Their dwellings tend to be warm and humid, especially the egg hatcheries.

Dietary Needs and Habits

Kolbolds will eat plants or animals but are not adverse to eating intelligent beings.

Additional Information

Social Structure

Kobolds have a tribal based society. Many of their leaders are sorcerers. In more northern climes, they often have Dire Weasels that they use for mounts for their elite warriors.

Geographic Origin and Distribution

Small groups of Kobolds can be found in uncivilized areas of Kementari.

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

Kobolds have darkvision to a range of 60'. They are sensitive to bright light.

Civilization and Culture

History

Legends have Kobolds serving as the "footsoldiers" of Dragons, often commanded by Dragonborn, though no Kobold settlement recorded so far has confirmed this.

Interspecies Relations and Assumptions

Kobolds tend to be sadistic little murderers, who pretty much hate any other species they come in contact with. Those that have come to Kementari have often competed with Gnomes for environments and living space- to the extent that the two species will tend to attack each other on sight.
Kobolds get significantly braver the more there are, and their reliance on traps and snares often allows them to "whittle down" their opposition. They DO respect physical strength, and are often quick to serve those they perceive as mighty, but more out of fear than anything else.
Scientific Name
Homo Varanus Draconis
Average Height
Kobolds are about the same size as Halflings or Gnomes.
