Crimson Collective Organization in The Dragon Isles | World Anvil

Crimson Collective

The Crimson Collective is one of the oldest factions in the isles. Born in the dunes of what is now the Kingdom of Abnak this faction has a history dripping in blood and violence. Dating back to before Dragonfall the collective is a group of people who have always been opposed to immortal rule. During the ages they have sparked many rebellions and conducted many assassinations of immortals and their allies. While their actions have been violent, the members believe that the Crimson Collective serves a vital role in the freedom of the isle -keeping ambition and oppression in check. Wielding rare blood magic which they claim comes from the divinity within, these warriors have traveled the land of the isles keeping a close watch on immortals and those who they might suspect to be one. In current times the collective has been less outward in their actions and have been biding their time-ever ready for when someone steps out of line. Due to the war with Abnak the collective is low in number, and recent affairs in the faction have been steeped in division as a splinter group known as the Blood of Yu has been pushing a more violent and direct approach to ending the lines of immortals.   While its presence, especially in Abnak is primarily composed of redskinned Raja Orcs, any person can take on the oaths of blood and join the collective and spread its philosophy across the isles. Warlocks, sorcerers, druids, and barbarians make up most of the group’s ranks. With membership being so low, members are spread out among the different regions, remaining vigilant and taking on tasks that may grow the faction and strengthen the bonds between each other.   The collective is mainly supported by donors and the resources of its members. It does not generate a lot of income in the traditional sense. A main source of funds has been the large haul of treasure the collective had seized from the treasuries of Abnak, taken from The Pit, during the short time the Crimson Collective controlled the capital.

Headquarters:

The Crimson Collective does not have a fixed headquarters or base of operations, as they believe that having a single, central location would make them vulnerable to attack and infiltration by the immortals and their allies. Instead, the collective uses a network of safe houses and secret locations throughout the isles where they can meet, plan, and train. The locations of these safe houses are carefully guarded and only known to a select few members of the collective. They are often hidden in remote or inconspicuous places, such as abandoned buildings, hidden caves, or remote forests.   The collective also uses a system of codes and encrypted messages to communicate with each other and to coordinate their activities. This allows them to avoid detection and to remain hidden from their enemies.   The council of the collective meets in a different location each time, often using a different safe house or secret location for each meeting. This ensures that the council members cannot be tracked or targeted, and it also allows them to gather information from different parts of the isles and make decisions based on the latest intelligence.

Structure

The Crimson Collective is organized into a series of smaller groups called "tribes," each of which is led by a tribe leader. The tribe leaders are chosen by the members of the tribe based on their skill, experience, and dedication to the cause of the collective. Each tribe is responsible for its own operations, and the tribe leaders have the autonomy to make decisions and take actions as they see fit. The tribes are also responsible for recruiting new members, training them, and providing support and resources to help them succeed. The tribes are also responsible for coordinating their activities with each other, and they meet regularly to discuss strategy and share information. The tribes are also responsible for communicating with the overall leadership of the collective, which is made up of a council named The Blood Court, which is made of the most experienced and respected members of the organization. One member who has been gaining traction lately is Eilif Redsun, an orc woman with a strong personality.   The council is responsible for setting the overall direction and goals of the collective, and they work closely with the tribe leaders to ensure that the collective is moving towards its goals. The council also provides guidance and support to the tribes, and they help to resolve disputes and conflicts within the collective.   Overall, the non-hierarchical structure of the Crimson Collective allows for a high degree of flexibility and adaptability, and it enables the collective to respond quickly and effectively to changing circumstances and challenges. It also promotes a sense of collaboration and cooperation among the members of the collective, and it encourages everyone to work together towards the common goal of defeating the immortal rulers and securing freedom for the people of the Dragon Isles.
