The Dragon Isles

Long ago the celestial dragon fell from the heaven and landed in the sea. Its body became the land, and its blood, magic and life. For centuries dragons had ruled these islands, waging war against each other. Alliances shifted, civilizations prospered and crumbled.   Over the years these immortals and their followers changed the face of the land, and grew in science, magic, engineering, and philosophy. Some pressed the limits of battle and industry, while others sought peaceful living. But one day everything changed.   A surge of magic, perhaps even a curse, flooded the land, and changed every dragon into a humanoid. They retained many of their attributes and abilities, but lost their ferocious and powerful dragon forms. In the chaos many where hunted and killed. Many went into hiding, some in desolate places, and others behind their armies. So much time has passed that it has become difficult to know who might actually be one of the many immortals that still call the Dragon Isles home.
