Dragon's Burial

Written by invadersforever

This is a monument devoted to the dragon Pidyr, creator of the Krigi. After his death many centuries ago, the Cult of Pidyr walled off his den and built a massive monument over top. The monument is still under construction today, though it is getting close to completion. The construction of the monument is one of the lst places where Krigi Keolora and Krigi Erith act as one person.   Within the bounds of the monument, the Cult of Keolora and the Cult of Erith are technically reforged into the Cult of Pidyr. They begrudgingly work together to finish this monument.

King Pidyr, Who Has Given Us Wings

Pidyr is the most universally worshipped dragon in the desert, even after his death. Traits connected with him, such as red wings or heterochromatic eyes, are considered attractive by both factions. The continued worship of Pidyr is easy to understand - as the creator of the Krigi, he is responsible for them being the only dragon blessed who can fly.

Blessed, May He Ever Watch The Desert

The monument takes the form of a massive statue of Pidyr, allegedly life sized, carved out of the rock where he made his home. Once it is finished and painted, the statue of Pidyr will look like a majestic dragon surveying the desert sky. His wings are spread open, in reference to his gift to his creations.
"Though eternally he sleeps in our deeds he remains ever vigilant Noble, Watchful, Strong, True   King Pidyr, who has given us wings he who gifted us this life this sky this desert this blessed home   The cave will be his home forever more but he still keeps watch the great King perched a top his sun-baked throne Blessed, may he ever watch the desert."

Though Eternally He Sleeps

The name Pidyr may mean a great deal to the Krigi, but beyond the desert the only names that matter are Keolora and Erith. This is not without reason: both cults are incredibly protective of his stories and the location of his burial.   As such, many outsiders have come deep into the desert only to "discover" what appears to be a massive dragon out in the open. As hunting dragons are known to catch and eat rivals' dragon blessed, they typically vacate the area before they can get a better look.   This has led to many false reports about Keolora and Erith's activity flying around Gix Aria.
