The Rationalist Council

After the chaotic leadership of Kenneth Thurston and the Great Punture Disaster in 2112 AF in the age of the Trade Wars, a movement for the radical reform of the governance of Anoomenon known as the Rationalists swept into power, promising to impose a new order based on the practices of compassionate and dispassionate scientific and educational principles. Never again, could the bungling nepotism and corrupted psuedo logic of the previous regimes be allowed to influence policy for some confused ideology or personal gain ahead of a proper rational assesement of what would benefit the whole city and its inhabitants.
The Second Constitution was ratifed in 2118 AF as the last act of the old Law Council. Amongst many other sweeping changes, it established five new schools, called the Grey Schools, after Chyou Grey.
The years between 2118 AF and 2160 AF at Anoomenon are known as the Grey Preregnum. The city was ruled directly by the Rationalist Council, but this was always seen as simply a necessary intermediate stage before the first of the true Grey Kings could take the throne. That was because the Grey Kings must be crafted by gene engineering, then educated and trained according to carefully designed protocols and this needed time. It was only when Oman Phariff was selected and crowned in 2160 AF that the true line of the Grey Kings began.
In addition to Chyou Grey, who played the leading role in the planning and implementation of the political and educational template for the Grey Kings, leading members of the Rationalist Council included, Zander Beckett and Erin Rath who refined the details of the second constitution during the Grey Preregnum.

Disbandment

When the first of the Grey Kings took over, the role of the Rationalist Council ended.
