The Purple Party
The Purple Party were a group of aristocrats and business leaders in the city of Quarowl on the continent of Tinturbean and the world of Magicians' End, formed in the 34th century APC.
They took their name from a custom of wearing clothes of a particular shade of pale purple, a dye supplied by one of their members to another, a tailor who made good money dressing them all in the finery with which they publically proclaimed their allegiance to the cause, on those occasions when politics was felt to demand it.
It was not unusual for allied Barons to form political parties, operating as a voting block within the Baronial Moot but these tended to be short lived conveniences which would easily break apart and reform along different lines to suit the politics of the moment. The Purple Party was one of the longer lived of such groups and ultimately, perhaps, the most notorious.
