Gerald Cartwright
Field Marshall Gerald Cartwright was a senior commander in the armies of the Old Pale Empire, based at Zalgurim at the time of the death of Emperor Myrold II. He allied himself with Lady Pelle, supporting the cause of her daughter Princess Cecilia in the War of the Three Sisters. There are rumours that an informal and secret agreement had been made between Lady Pelle and the Field Marshall, to the effect that he might marry into the family as Princess Cecilia's husband once her position on the throne was secure. This would have meant the breaking of an existing engagement, but we cannot know now if there was ever any truth in these stories.
The Field Marshall died at the Battle of Maplerun and the cause to which he had become allied was lost.
