Arcane Advisors
The Arcane Advisors were the team of working mages at the Court Circle of Katrapetch, led by the Senior Magician of Katrapetch and reporting to the Raja. Every magic user who worked within the Court Circle, technically belonged to the Arcane Advisors however humble their actual role was in day to day palace life.
Only the Senior Magician of Katrapetch and two of his most powerful collegues, who held the title of Arcane Wisdom, routinely attended every royal advisory meetings, although it was customary for all mages to attend occasional meetings, when instructed to do so by the senior magician or by royalty.
History
The Arcane Advisors began as no more than a handful of magic using adepts who were the friends of Mataphar Nomaz, the first Senior Magician of Katrapetch. Over time, their role in the increasingly successful city expanded and their numbers grew.
At the beginning of the 6th millenium BPC, Reldsor Paraveld introduced some much needed reforms to provide a more structured career path for the advisors and impose more order and discipline within their ranks. He created a formal role for two Arcane Wisdoms to assist in training junior members of the group and to act as his deputies.
The most notorious historical member of the Katrapetch Arcane Advisors was surely the mage Clarise Vabatan, who joined their ranks at the dawn of the Time of Terrors in the 4th millenium APC and went on to found the infamous and secretive Sisters of Vabatan.
