Icarus

An Icarus, is a winged humanoid creature. Like Fae, they are considered to be among the most beautiful creatures in existence.
Their skin color varies; ranging from shades of green, to violet. Their eyes vary as well. While they have no pupils, their entire eye is a shade of either blue, green, or violet. Many Icari also have long hair, that vary in color. When they are born, their wings are pure white, but when they reach maturity (13 in Icarus culture) they dye their wings that is representative of their family's colors.
It is widely believed that the Icari descended from the Fae, due to their many similarities in both culture and appearance.
The Icari are fearsome warriors. They are able to fly through the air at blinding speeds, and can carry heavy loads on their backs.
Aside from having a fear of fire, Icari have one major vulnerability -- their wings. If an Icarus loses one of their wings, they are unable to fly, and thus are exiled from the community. If they lose both of their wings, they are killed. It is considered to be a great dishonor to lose their wings, no matter the cause; even in battle, and losing them defending their home.
Throughout history, they have been known to be mistaken for angels, and it is believed the popular appearance for angels are actually that of Icari.
They have been at war with the Fae, off and on, for centuries despite their similarities. Their respective kingdoms border each other, and their armies are practically equal in strength.
