Port Arrival
Welcome to Port Arrival; The most western territory under control of the senate. Seated at the Northeastern region of the new land Colossus. This was a joint effort between all allied entities of Archea. For the moment the settlement is small maybe only 50 or so people. They are waiting for the grand journey of the ship Destiny's Concord. It is set to arrive within the next year or so bringing much needed mercenaries, supplies and support personnel. Contained within Port arrival are representatives of all interests of Archea. From Historians and researchers to treasure hunters and those seeking a new beginning. Though progress has been slow as they don't have the man power yet to fully assemble this outpost into a full functioning settlement.
Defences
The largest defense Port Arrival has is the small mountain range that lies just beyond it. These mountains form a barrier from some of the inclement weather of Colossus. As well as a way to almost screen out any of the more predatory animals. In conjunction with the natural defences there are Palisades that surround a good portion of the outpost along with some rudimentary watch towers.
Guilds and Factions
Presently in Port arrival there are members of the merchants guild. Senatorial special interests are there as well. Especially for Olmec from the southern senate, Zando Yoko from the western senate, Skye Florentine of the east senate, Norn Djorn from the central senate, and some special interests from both Northumbria as well as Magnishitaudi delegates.
History
Rumors of land far to the west have always been circulated by seafaring folk, Never was this information acted upon given the nature of circles that it was presented in. Pirates and smugglers tend not to be the most trust worthy services. That was until a merchants ship was chased off the western edges of the map by a vessel that was seemingly followed by a storm. This information was relayed to the port of Westerlanding which eventually made it up the chain to senator Hilde Shnack. Who then presented this "new" information to the senate, and from there a coalition was formed to land in and explore this new found land.
Points of interest
Nestled in the mountains just beyond the walls there is an entity from which all of Colossus' name is derived from. A gargantuan Construct in the shape of what is believed to be a bi-pedal humanoid. The would be discoverers reported back a Colossal being. They began calling it the Colossus of the West. A name that has since traveled far beyond its original destination.
