Witch

Witches are a group of trained gardeners and "potion" brewers. First established by the lofi of Home, witches are known for their potions, a wide variety of drinks and candies that utilise and amplify the natural medicinal elements of plants grown in the witch's garden.

Career

Qualifications

Witches must first be trained and licenced before being allowed to sell their potions. Many schools on home run optionally courses for students that provide all the necessary training, through licencing must be done through an external organisation. Those who apply for a licence will be tested on their skills, etiquette and health and safety before being granted a licence. Once licenced, witches will be retested twice a year or in the case of breaches of conduct to ensure they are fit for the job.

Perception

Demographics

An overwhelming majority of witches are lofi, their natural "Green Fingers" ability gives them a natural advantage by speeding up the growth of ingredients while also incresing yield and potency. While there are a very small number of witches coming from other cultures, they often focus on the brewing aspects, working alongside lofi partners to aid in the production of ingredients.

Operations

Workplace

Many practising witches will work out of a Witchery Shop. These shops generally consist of a front area where customers can wait for service and browse wares, a back area for preparing potions and a back garden for growing ingredients. Many of those who own a Witchery Shop will live in a house above the shop, their work is often a major part of their life and the ability to switch between personal and witch time is important to them.

Legality
It is illegal to practice as a witch without a valid licence, obtaining this requires at least a year of training and biannual inspections. These laws are in place to protect the public from inexperienced or malicious potion makers who may cause harm if left to their own devices. Consequences for breaking these rules can range from fines to imprisonment and lifetime bans from attaining a witchery licence, dependent on the severity.
