The Wydir Embassy of Matermar
The current embassy of the Colorless Court in the Matron Mysterium is located in a converted warehouse that was previously an ancient bath house.
Purpose / Function
The current purpose is as the formal embassy of the city state of Wydir (home of the Colorless Court ). It houses a contingent of Enfys Knights as well as a number of Colorless Monks, and routine staff. The ambassador is an Elvish man named Aiden Embach, and has only been in the city of Matermar two years.
Alterations
The large baths were covered up a couple hundred years ago to convert the building into a warehouse for the local pickling guild. Only one of the five pools, remained open as a brining tank for processing. It stayed that way for many years until abandoned. Once obtained by the Wydir Ambassador eight years ago they have been renovating the building to allow for more living and office spaces, though they now have two of the pools opened for their own use.
Architecture
Originally of a medium size granite brick from the nearby hills, it was built in a multiple-courtyard arrangement. Initially decorated with tile murals as bath house, when it became a warehouse those were covered with an orangish plaster. The embassy has removed both the plaster and tile, leaving an austere plain granite, this lack of color in most of their ornamentation is why the building is now called the Dull House. The Wydir aesthetic is more interested in form and texture with only bright accent colors, which contracts with the more popular colored plaster look of much of the city.
