Tannaria

When people say "the middle of nowhere" or "the frontier" they often say "as Far as Tannaria." While in truth there are places harder to get to, it is a far distance away. It is known as the Eyes of Eternity for the strange temple complex within a orange crystalline dome, which grants glimpses of many faraway places. Who built it, and what its true purpose is has yet to be determined. 
The town is a combination of various rocky outcrops with bridges between them and strange architecture. Temples to obscure gods, cults to extra planer powers and merchants willing to sell you anything and steal it from you a day later. This town is not for the faint of heart. The most prominent cults are the Cult of the Eternal Dance, The Cult of the Eye, The Cult of the Shavernig, and The Cult of Peneret. Also prominent are the outpost of the Church of the Earthstar and the tourist district. 
The Cult of the Eye really isn't seen at all, they do have an imposing building which locals swear house a large cult, but no one enters or leaves.

Demographics

The majority of Tannaria is populated with strange cults, arcane researchers, and unusual tourists. Given this there is little understanding of the actual population of the town.

Government

Don't mess up. Each section of the town has a separate ruler, laws and methods of governance. Keep to the tourist areas.
