Madam Juno's Traveling Carnaval
The Cradle is full of hardships. Rural communities get harassed by mad Fey, Moonchildren are hunted for their divine essence and local rulers drive their towns into the ground. A safe haven is Madam Juno's Traveling Carnaval, which is a front for a band of adventurers. Madam Juno, and by extension, the Circus, roams the realm seeking to do good. To help the people. Madam Juno, in all her mysteriousness, takes aboard characters of interest and gives them a home and a profession.
Structure
Within the Carnaval, Madam Juno is the head. Her say is final and everyone in the Carnaval considers her leader. However, she is rarely seen and gives out orders through her second in command Jolly Baddock. His free-spirited nature may give the impression of a relaxed leading style, but in reality he holds quite a tight fist over the circus and makes sure everything runs smoothly.
The other notable figure within the Carnaval is Maksym Puhach who's in charge of security. He ensures safe travels and that no accidents happen when they do settle in a town. He is a surprisingly easy-going fellow, always available for a chat and on good terms with everyone in the Carnaval. He is the only figure who will openly dispute with Madam Juno, if he considers her choices too dangerous.
Culture
Within the Carnaval there is a heavy emphasis on making it a welcome environment. As it's grown over the years, now boasting up to over 30 permanent workers (with 5-10 travelers who help as working hands at most times), it still remains rambunctious and lively.
A key part of the Carnaval is the downtime. You will often find circles of people playing cards or dice, or the band taking ideas for their next songs. The most participated activity in the Carnaval has become Wild Owen's reading circle. It started out as something very small, but now usually marks the end of the night for most workers.
As the Carnaval acts as a safe method of traveling for a wide range of people, there are often a handful of foreign faces helping out as working hands. These range from Fey looking for transport, Peacekeepers keeping a low profile, Harvester's exploring to Humans simply hitching a ride. While most do not stick around, it is expected they do their fair share of labor in setting up tents, moving boxes and cooking.
Assets
When set up to perform, the Carnaval reps an impressive amount of tents and carts.
The centerpiece of it all is the Big Top, the main performance tent and where the main show takes place. Quite traditional in style, it is a large tent in the colors of the Carnaval, crimson and magenta.
Two smaller pavilions and all personal carts hide further back, offering rest and nourishment to the performers and workers.
Dotting the surrounding of the Big Top are the Game and Food Carts. These are a varied bunch of circus games and delicacies one can enjoy between performances or before heading home.
When on the road, the Carnaval compresses into a total of 12 carts. The Vendor carts obviously are self-sufficient, but the rest are a mix of storage and shared housing.
