Gwen in treatment center

Gwen is inside the chamber, it's seeming so real but she can't be sure if it is. She has been in the treatment center for weeks now, and is trying to fight against the "medicine" they are giving her.  But fighting it leads to side effects: dizziness, memory loss, extreme pain, and tiredness.  And the more she fights, the more she remembers it all, coming back in flashes. And those memories are trying to go away.  She's not only fighting against the poison being put into her veins, she's fighting to hold on to the truth and the memories of what really happened.  Each step, each struggle, each lamented breath, brings back a different moment, coming like flashes, in and out and out of order.  One step and she sees herself back in that white dress, looking back at Scott and telling him that she is right there. One more breath and she hears the song her father used to sing to her so she would fall asleep. "I love you to the moon and back, the moon and back, the moon and back..." as she sees a flash of light and a shattered up moon. She starts to feel dizzy and lightheaded as she tries to stand up.  "It's going to be okay." She hears Thomas saying as her energy pulses at him. She sees the fights. The truth of it all.  And then she collapses from the strain of fighting against it all.

Plot points/Scenes

Beginning: Gwen is stumbling out of the bed after the nurses have left. She has just been given more medicine, and is trying to fight against it. She makes her way to the bathroom, hoping to throw it up or extract it somehow. As she makes her way there, she starts to feel immense pain and gets a headache. Middle: Each step is agonizing. Each breath feels like a stabbing sword. Each movement takes so much effort. And they all bring up memories that she'd rather forget, but can't. She knows that this medicine will help her forget, but she also knows how dangerous it would be if she did. She needs to remember the truth, because if not, she can't help make things better.  But fighting is harder than she thought it'd be. We see a shadow of Gwen in each panel with the memories all around her. Each memory is assigned to a different panel. I think it would most likely be a long strip split into six different panels, with the shadow of Gwen in the middle of all of them.  ONE: Her white dress standing in front of Scott, telling him she's still here TWO: Her pulling Thomas out of the lake THREE: The main A.T.L.A.S. base FOUR: Meeting Cory- him trying to kill her due to him being an assassin and all FIVE: Pulsing at Thomas and him telling her it's okay while she is hurting him SIX: The song her father used to sing and a bright flashing light in front of a shattered moon. The light is blue... End: We see Gwen stumbling towards the bathroom door, in agonizing pain. She reachers for the doorknob, but collapses before she can open the door. We see the door to the room open in the background, signifying that the nurses are coming back into the room.

Themes

The white dress always shows up whenever there is a moment of confusion within the conflict Gwen is dealing with. Or when she has to confront something- in this scene Scott. Her fighting Thomas is a huge arc pithing the whole story. Because she loves him and doesn't want to hurt him. This symbolizes that fear in this scene. The Lake is a running theme for Thomas, it's a huge part of his character arc and backstory. The blue energy is the energy within Gwen. So whenever there is a blue light or glow, it normally means that Gwens energy is involved within the scene. Here, it represents the amount of power she really has.

Components

Goals

In this scene the goal is for Gwen to make it to the bathroom in order to expel the "medicine" that they have just given her. If she doesn't get it out of her system, there could be dire consequences. She will lose all of her previous memories and her energy will be completely gone. In order for Gwen to stay alive and be able to change things, she has to fight against the poison in her veins and expel it as soon as possible.

Hooks

These would be the flashes of previous memories and information. These are the truths she is fighting to remember. She needs to remember these moments so that she can put the pieces together and start working towards defeating the current system- getting rid of these centers, disposing and eradicating collective and similar substances etc.

Stakes

If she doesn't get the poison out soon, she will be forced to let it in. She won't be able to fight at that point, and will lose all of those memories that are key to making things better. Things will get harder, and Gwen could die because her energy will be gone.

Moral Quandaries

Well, she wouldn't be in pain anymore. She wouldn't have to fight so hard every day just so that she doesn't hurt anyone. All of those painful memories would be gone. She would have a chance to start over with a clean slate, and maybe, just maybe, live a normal life. But there is so much more at stake, and she would have to put aside her wants for others needs. And she is willing to do just that.

Cruel Tricks

Even though she is fighting so hard, she can't control the poison within her. It's going to take effect when it wants to, and she has to act fast in order to avoid that. But she has no control over the effects of it, and is suffering greatly because of that.

Red Herrings

Well you could say that the red herring is that if she gives in and stops fighting that everything will be better. But that is far from true.
