The Duke of Granvalle sends an army of ±5,000 men into Rasfadal to besiege Derwon Castle.
The first campaign started when Reginald V sent a force of 5,000 men to Derwon Castle on 3 Margon 1243. Within a fortnight the Granvalle forces had surrounded and besieged the castle.
