Sassarras

"Sassarras sits on the foothills of the Gynardan Mountains, Protected by the Hills of Omber to the south and the Hinder-Larr forest to the north. It's an old and rather picturesque city. It's also the capital of a country known for blood magic. The archduke resides in the Grand Ducal Palace, overlooking the city and the Academy of Sassarras, a prestigious school for wizard, only rivaled by the Mage Tower of Harvess further north. Still, the Academy of Sassarras has trained some of the most powerful mages on the continent. Many wizards aspire to be accepted into the academy, but only a select few are chosen to be educated in the ways of magic. It is believed that the first archduke of Sovar experimented with blood magic, following the teachings of the dragonborn in the Gynardan Mountains. Wether this is true or not is unknown, but the rumor has spread and many accepted it as the truth. For this reason foreign rulers keep a watchful eye on the Academy of Sassarras. As a visitor you'll find several establishments around the town, but as cozy and idyllic as it may seem from afar, the city is not always a nice place to be. Many of the churches are dedicated to gods of Indulgence, Desire and Lust, and it shown in the city. Every tavern also functions as a brothel or gambling house. You'll find many addicts in the street, looking for their next fix of Bloodroot, Black Grass or Oranash, all very addictive and dangerous drugs. Luckily, all of this is just the outer city. Inside the city walls the Archduke makes sure you'll find no addicts or sex workers and you do they'll be beat up in the streets and thrown out of the inner city." D. Harewood, Fendalian Cartographer
