Kingdom of Fendal

The Kingdom of Fendal was a feudal kingdom that emerged from the blending of Old Fendalian and Burbric cultures. It had a decentralized organization structure and a culture that emphasized honor, loyalty, and respect for tradition. The Fendalians were fiercely independent people with a deep connection to the land they inhabited, and their art, architecture, and cuisine reflected their values. The kingdom had a long and complex history, involving multiple conquests and changes in its organization structure, culminating in its transformation into the Kingdom of Rasfadal under the rule of Looras the Great. Despite its eventual demise, the Kingdom of Fendal left a lasting impact on the region's culture and history.

Structure

The early organization structure of the Kingdom of Fendal was based on clans and tribes, with a decentralized feudal system introduced by the Burbric Empire after their conquest in 50BP. After the Burbric Empire fell, Fendal became an independent kingdom again and returned to their old way, denouncing the feudal laws. However, Fendal was conquered again by the Burbric Empire in 150AP and merged with other kingdoms into the province of Estmontem. After a rebellion against the Burbric Empire, Fendal became an independent feudal kingdom in 260AP. The later organization structure of Fendal remained feudal and under the rule of a king, with a strong emphasis on honor, loyalty, and respect for tradition.

Culture

The Fendalian culture is a blend of Old Fendalian and Burbric cultures, with a strong emphasis on honor, loyalty, and tradition. The people value independence and have a deep connection to their land. Fendalians have a rich cultural heritage that includes epic poetry, music, and storytelling, with art and architecture reflecting practicality and functionality. The cuisine is hearty and satisfying, with a preference for meat and locally sourced produce. Fendalians observe various customs and traditions throughout their lives, including birth and baptismal rites, coming-of-age rituals, and funerary customs. Myths and legends play an important role in Fendalian culture, serving as a source of entertainment, inspiration, and moral guidance.

History

The Kingdom of Fendal emerged as a small kingdom based around several clans and tribes in ancient times. It was conquered by the Burbric Empire around the year 50BP, which introduced feudalism to the kingdom. In the year 0AP, after the Burbric Empire fell due to an apocalyptic event, the Kingdom of Fendal rose again as an independent kingdom and denounced the feudal laws introduced by the empire. However, it was conquered again by the Burbric Empire around the year 150AP and merged into the province of Estmontem with other kingdoms in the region. The rulers of Estmontem and Arnallan rebelled against the Burbric Empire around the year 260, becoming independent once again. The new king of Fendal stuck to the Burbric feudal system, and it remained a small and insignificant kingdom until Looras the Great became king in 381AP. Looras was able to conquer many surrounding areas and renamed his kingdom the Kingdom of Rasfadal in 401AP, marking the end of the Kingdom of Fendal and the beginning of a new era.

Disbandment

The kingdom of Fendal came to an end when Looras the Great, who was the king of Fendal, reformed the kingdom into the Kingdom of Rasfendal (later Rasfadal) after his conquests of nearby kingdoms. The transformation of the kingdom of Fendal was not an abrupt ending, but rather a gradual process that occurred over several decades. As Looras expanded his realm, he maintained the feudal structure of the kingdom of Fendal, but over time he gradually centralized power and made the title of king more powerful. The final step in this process occurred in 401AP when Looras subjugated the king of Arnallan, the most powerful king in the region and the only one to challenge his power at this point. After the king of Arnallan accepted to become a duke and swore fealty to Looras, Looras reformed his kingdom of Fendal into the Kingdom of Rasfendal, marking the end of the kingdom of Fendal and the beginning of a new era under the powerful and centralized Kingdom of Rasfadal.
