Session 24: Blackiron Report

General Summary

The party caught up with Vegam Yar who was having a crisis of faith as he felt lost with the conflict of Gorum and the ever approaching war of Hakkak invading Manadh. Feeling a need for some sort of redemption, his mind forcused on Sarenrae, the goddess of redemption, honesty, and the sun. However a lifetime of conflict is difficult to toss to the side and Vegum spoke out into the divine stating that war is a vehicle to bring peace. With this eery statement, the divine left him with an ember to nurish...   Now together once more, Vegum filled in his companions on how the Aspect of War came to be and that he volunteered them all to be conscripted in the upcoming war. Not interested in joining the army, or if they even believed in the war, the party decided it would be best if they took their leave sooner rather than later. With no real goal in mind but to make some coin (theorizing that the clock restarted for Revnaa Noshk's debt), Kartika Rogyapa suggested that she knew of a place that they could make a lot of coin and hamper the war effort. Weighing their options of travel, the party agreed and decided to head to Riverdale to catch a boat up river.   Once they reached Riverdale, headed into the local tavern for the night, they noticed someone watching them. Some illusionary hijinks occurd, leaving them for a quick flee to their room before the tavern keeper  at 3/4 Candle Tavern tossed them all out and not just the skin slippage skeleton. When they returned to ask questions, keeping Bones McGee hidden in Revnaa Noshk's backpack, they learned that the man watching them was gone. The tavern keeper told them that the man was named "Gram" and part of a gang at the docks (Slaughterfish Gang), who's leader was named Red Harring, and was here to "protect" the tavern every night. Noticing that Gram took the wanted poster of flesh-Bones, they decided to go find the gang.   While originally intending to hide who everyone was, the plan changed to the party to appear like the enforcers of Bones and for Bones to appear like his old living self. The party went to the docks and confronted the local group of the Slaughterfish Gang, sending Roy Crown Royal disguised as a gang member to retrieve Red Harring. Inside the warehouse, Roy spotted around 20 gang memebers in total and three cultist. When Red Harring came out to confront Bones, the cult members seemed ready to attack. Red Harring told them all not to fight in her territory and told Bones & his gang to get out of town. Evidently Bones had caused some hijinks at somepoint in this town when he was alive, with a "harlet", and was told if he ever stepped foot in this town again he would be killed. When asked what the "harlot's" name was, Red Harring stated she "doesn't care what you Bloody Daggers call yourselves".    Kartika Rogyapa convinced Red Harring to give them a boat and they would take Bones out of town. Red Harring ordered one of her probably addicted on their own product men to take the party on a boat up river. They boarded the boat as  Revnaa Noshk grumbled about not getting to sleep in the warm soft bed in the tavern they just paid for or going hunting.
