Session 22: War's Taint Report

General Summary

The party made their way towards Blackiron, Hakkak  and felt much relief after they left the city. Their angers seemed to cool in the wilderness, only spiking once more once they reached Blackiron. On the way there, their new feegal friend learned that he had been captive in the small chest for at least 500 years and that all the feegals nearby were moving to the north preparing for a big fight.   Once in Blackiron, Revnaa Noshk  and Vegam Yar  learned that their clan had lost power in the city. Vegam's family had been disgraced when a demon was summoned in the Iron Ring, a massive colosseum in the center of Blackiron. This was trouble for Revnna who had a debt to pay and no way to pay it. Luckily, Roy Crown Royal knew of an illeagal Brass Ring under the local cemetary.    The party split. Roy Crown Royal, the Feegal, and Revnaa Noshk went to the underground Brass Ring. Vegam Yar and Tyrinn Ironward went to the temple to see if they could learn anything from Vegam's shard.    In the Brass Ring, the party found Bones McGee who had been captured after a failed attempt to save the last of the Prairiehome Haven, Hakkak children in Coil City deep in the Darklands. The serpentfolk who caught him then sold him to the Brass Ring as fodder for their combatants. With some clever wordplay by Roy Crown Royal, leveraging his friendship in the Brass Ring, and a hefty amount of gold from Revnaa Noshk, the party managed to get the loansharks of the Brass Ring to not only forgive Revnaa's late payment but trade the part's feegal for Bones McGee's freedom.   Meanwhile on the surface, Vegam Yar found his temple and showed one of the war priests the shard (ignoring the wizard's advice). The priest told him it was saturated with divine magic, a shard of Gorum, and must have fallen here between what would be and what is. The tempation of the shard, and the eerie effects of the War's Touch in the temple, overroad the warpriest's senses. Vegam and the warpriest fought over the shard. When the warpriest grasped the shard in his bloody cut hand, having yanked it away from Vegam, the shard melded with his palm's wound and its metal spread across his skin as he grew in size enraged with the divine power. Realizing his blade could not pierce the metal skin of the enlarging creature of war, Vegam fled.
