Golden Treatment

The Golden Treatment, popularly nicknamed as the Last Shower, the Offsending, or The Saabo Torture, was a ritual pf the planet of Khannh by which slaves, illegal merchants or other citizens given the death sentence, would be depraved of food to then be given a large amount of Plumberies that gave them a ertain smell that a Hob would consider delicious.
Once a prisoner was condemned to death, they would be given food of poor nutritional value during weeks, debilitating their minds and bodies. The ritual would commence when the prisoners were considered "fit for party", which was another phrase for referring to inmates that looked thin and weak enough to be of no real threat against a Hob. By that moment, they would be given only large Plumberries as food, which once consumed, often gives the individual a smell only percieved by Hobs, believed to mark exquisite foods in the creatures' minds.
The prisoners would then be released into an enclosed oval-shaped arena, with thousands watching, and between one and three Hobs would then be released against him, which in the absolute majority of cases would end with the prisoner suffering a slow death agsint the hungry creatures.
The ritual was performed on cities controlled by Saabo during his times as local ruler, and often served as the first battle of celebration days, followed by several one-on-one duels that would grant freedom to the winner duelist. Because of its nature, the Golden Treatment was considered a rite of passage for sentenced prisoners into the further beyond; a sort of last goodbye to those to be eaten by the horrible monsters.
