The Weinlands

Historically the seat of the Wyneil Empire, the Weinlands is a land of rich natural abundance. Lush grasslands and rolling hills give way to river valleys and strong timberlands. Some of the oldest cultures in the heartlands of Thamrysis have dwelt here in the splendor of the verdant countryside, and great empires have been built upon the lime and stone of this noble land.

Geography

The geography of the Weinlands consists of mostly flat plains or gently rolling hills in the south building up to the mountainous region in the north, with the highest region being the Erenoir Mountains. It is bordered by the Great Eastern Ocean in the east, the sea of The Throat in the southwest, and the Immith Sea in the northeast. Other than its most eastern edge and holdings in The Throat, the borders of the Weinlands are delineated roughly by natural boundaries and geographic features, with the Ashe River(location) and Eastern Erenoir Mountains creating the northern border.   A great western flatland, known as Kamereland, is characterized by sand dunes and areas of broom, heather, and poor pasture. Dense and brooding coniferous forests mark the very western edge of this region. The Vielesaug Hills at the western base of the Erenoir climb 1500 ft from the grassland below and feed the Hendal River that makes up the rough boundaries of the western region of the Weinlands.

Natural Resources

Coal, iron ore, antimony, arsenic, potash, gypsum, timber, fish, gold.   The Weinlands has extensive land holdings, of which more than half is arable or pastoral land, and another third of which is wooded to some degree. The countries varied relief structure, as well as many rivers, further enhances its agricultural opportunities.
